In March, your Mission Fund donation went to our Pacific Southwest District. It is comprised of 300 congregations and 168 Lutheran Schools in Southern California, Arizona, and Southern Nevada. It is one of 35 Districts within the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. With an office on the campus of Concordia University in Irvine, CA, the District Staff seeks to “effectively resource congregations and schools for transforming lives and making the Great Commission REAL!” Please consider giving to The Mission Fund so we can continue to support vital causes and charities. Mission Minute – March 2019

Your Mission Fund donation for February went to both the Lutheran Heritage Foundation, and to Wilson Vai.

The Lutheran Heritage Foundation is a mission organization dedicated to translating, publishing, distributing, and introducing confessional Lutheran materials worldwide. Over 587 titles have been printed in 72 different languages with many more in process. Published resources are used by pastors, seminary students, missionaries, and churches worldwide including in the United States to reach out to ethnic populations.

Wilson Vai is a Lutheran Field Monitor working with the Lutheran Refugee Congregation who has requested assistance in building a shelter for the kids. Wilson said, “The children are my priority, I have to find them better area to stay to be healthy.” He wrote from Liberia.

Heidi Hill from Birth Choice called on February 20 and said she received a donation and wanted to express her thanks. Birth Choice was your January Mission Fund recipient.
Thank you for generously supporting these worthy charities. Contact: Linda

Your January Mission Fund donation went to Birth Choice, San Marcos. In addition to providing ultrasound images of their unborn babies, they provide pregnancy readings, after abortion and miscarriage care and education. Specifically, your $750 went toward their By Design program.

Mission Minute – Dec 2018

In November, your Mission Funds went to Cindy Zirbel Wrucke, a Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Missionary, serving in Eurasia as the Director of Communications. Missionaries are to raise all their own funds.  I had a meeting here at the Church with Cindy, and she shared with me many great things that the Lord is doing in the Eurasia Churches.
Specifically in Germany, the Muslim refugees are escaping Sharea law, and are filling the empty churches. She sees 1,000 baptisms a year. The churches are expected to do social outreach; Cindy finds ways to help them. She goes to the homes of church visitors with baked goods, answers any questions they may have, and gets them involved in church activities. The Lutheran Heritage Foundation helps with bi-lingual church literature and bibles.
In mostly Muslim Mongolia, they are seeking farmers from the U.S. to teach them agriculture methods.
There is more information about Cindy on the counter in the lobby near the other brochures, or you can read more HERE.
Thank you very much for your continued support of the Mission Fund at Redeemer by the Sea.

Mission Minute

In October your Mission Fund contribution of $750 went to Christian Solidarity International (CSI), an international Christian human rights organization, campaigning for religious liberty and human dignity, and assisting victims of religious persecution, victimized children and victims of catastrophe. CSI is currently the only organization working to liberate Christians and other South Sudanese forced into slavery by government-backed forces during the Sudanese civil war.
Read more about the critical work of CSI HERE  and see the important video HERE.

Thank you, and if you would like to insure that Redeemer by the Sea continues to make monthly contributions to worthy charities, you can designate your offering by marking “Missions” on your envelope or check.

Mission Minute

Last month, your Mission Fund contribution was awarded to Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM), which is a trusted expert in global media that equips and engages a vibrant volunteer base to passionately proclaim the Gospel to more than 100 million people worldwide each week. Through its North American headquarters and 34 ministry centers on six continents, LHM reaches into more than 50 countries, often bringing Christ to places where no other Christian evangelistic organizations are present. LHM’s flagship ministry, The Lutheran Hour®, airs weekly on more than 1,800 radio stations and the American Forces Network. LHM encourage those people who are reached through these ministry efforts to respond by contacting staff or volunteers. LHM then cultivates relationships with those who respond to ultimately facilitate a relationship between them and a Christian community, thus helping grow the kingdom of God. On behalf of Lutheran Hour Ministries, thank you for your Mission Fund contribution, -Linda Staehr, RBTS Missions & Evangelism Chair
